A Little Sideboard for the Dining Room

If you have been following my blog lately you know that I've been working on my dining room. On one side of the room I had this shelf that I restyled a while back, see here for that post.

It's the one I added chicken wire to the window part.
I had always felt it was a little too crowded on that side, too much going on and I had no where to put extra food dishes when company came. So.......while I was browsing my favorite flea market yesterday I spied a great deal! The answer to my dilemma
She called out my name.....
I got it for only $25, I thought that was a great price. Someone had already painted it but I'm going to go over it with ASCP in Old White and add some architectural interest with some furniture appliques.
Maybe some new pulls also.
I added a old grain sack to the top. There is a slight etching in the wood around each knob, you can barely see it in this picture.
My 'Thanksgiving' dishes stored inside. I haven't done anything to this cabinet yet, I plan to finish off the inside too, paint or a pretty paper maybe.
Pretty legs and crossboard too.

It's funny how when you see pictures some things just stand out, like that hanging lamp cord lol. Anyway, I now have a little area to put buffet food and it's not so busy on this side of the room anymore, don't you agreed? I'll be doctoring up the little cabinet this coming week. The chicken wire shelf? It's still in this room on a different wall. That's it for today, happy blogging!
I'll be partying here.....

  4. YOur room looks so nice. I like your little cabinet & the wire cloche. I also love your sheep picture, and I've been looking for something just like it. Would you mind sharing where you got it? I know you're busy, but I'd really appreciate it if you'd email me and let me know where it came from. Thanks.

  8. Hi Teresa!

I hope you had a fun weekend! :) Your new sideboard is such a great find, and for such a fantastic price, too! I can't wait to see what "she" looks like when you've painted her! It was also a treat to see the whole room itself, which is so cute! :)

I hope you have a great Monday!

    Blessings,
