So I Kept The Frenchy Benchy

Well, I couldn't sell it, I kept dreaming about how it would look in this room or that room so I knew I had to go pick it up and bring it back home. Remember THIS POST?  My hubby had made this cute little bench from a twin headboard and footboard that I rescued for $11. I painted it Old White and added a wreath applique. I also added a graphic to the seat but I was never really that happy with how that graphic turned out.

So when I got it home I sanded off the old graphic repainted that area and put the new graphic on.....
I still need to rub a bit more of the paper off, but I'm loving it so far!

I like this one much better plus it looks more hand painted than the other one.

I did it using the Modge Podge method of transfer. You simply print out the graphic you want, make sure you reverse the image or the words will be backwards. I got this image from Graphic Fairy.
Once it's printed out let it dry completely, I used an ink jet printer and it worked great. Cut off all unnecessary paper around the edges then apply a thin coat of Modge Podge right over the image side. Position it image side down where you would like it to transfer and smooth out all air bubbles til it is nice a smooth. Let dry overnight then lightly moisten the paper and begin to rub gently with you fingers. The paper will roll off and the image will stay. Don't get too crazy with this part, you don't want to remove the image but I didn't have any problem with that at all so just rub it off til it looks nice and clear and there you go! I may spray a matte sealer over mine. Now I just have to decide which room it's going it :)
