I don't know about you but I have an affinity for lamps, yes lamps. I don't know why I'm so intrigued by them but it seems I have a hard time passing up a cute little lamp.
They add so much to the cozy feel in my home. When you turn it on everything comes to life!
Little accessories are suddenly in the spotlight. They are on stage and the colors pop!
My daughter Kim brought me those flowers from her garden, she's has a sweet heart.

At night they bring safety and comfort. They shine brightly in a dark space to chase away the shadows.
I like to elevate my lamps to give them more prominence. This little rooster lamp has a lovely fabric that seems to go with anything.
I love the look of these linen shades, they seem to calm any space where they are used.
Little table risers provide extra space to place little cuties like this bunny.
If you find a lamp base you like but not the shade you can always recover it with a different fabric like I did with my chicken lamp. This little lamp really lights up a dark corner in my kitchen.
I found this lamp at Goodwill but it needed a shade. I found a shade that I liked the shape but not the material so I just recovered it with this cute bird fabric then added the beading to the bottom.
I like to decorate the shades with wreaths especially at Christmas. But they look cute anytime of year.
Even this small little lamp makes a pretty statement next to Eulalie the Cow.
So what is it that you can't pass up? Lamps, pillows, white pitchers..........?
Blessings,
Teresa

Love your lamps! I have a couple of rooster lamps too.
ReplyDeleteI have a very hard time passing up white pitchers!!

You have some nice lamps. I do like the light that a lamp gives, but don't have many. I did get my mom's bedside lamps last week. Her original shades are long gone, so I am on the hunt for something close. I think those lamps are as old as I am!
ReplyDeleteI adore how you set the lamp on the little stand. Perfect!
I am so with you! Love odd lamps! Yours are charming and are displayed beautifully. One of my favorite little lamps is one I bought 30 years ago in an antique store. It is a 3 dimensional Cinderella type china lamp complete with horses and carriage and original shade. I'd have to move it to photograph though as it sits on the back of a toilet and who wants to see pictures of toilets! But I love it.
ReplyDeletePillows and lamps are my thing too! I love, love your rooster lamps and the shades you redid are so very neat!
ReplyDeleteI buy lots of lamps too! I have them everywhere. I've tried hard to stop buying so many. You have some beautiful ones.
ReplyDeleteI love lamps too but seem to have a hard time figuring out exactly where to put them. We desperately need more lamplight in our family room right now. When I try to add in another lamp, it never feels right.
ReplyDeleteYou have some beautiful lamps and shades. The shades really make it, I think.
Where did you find the little lift that have the one lamp sitting on? Love that!
I just looked back and you have a few of those risers. Those would be fun for lots of things. I usually use books to raise things but it would be fun to use something new.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit I can't pass up a cute lamp either! I have them all over my house and use them to cozy it up especially in the winter. Love that toileish lampshade you redid. Maybe you could do a tutorial? Mimi
ReplyDeleteOK never mind! I went back and looked in your archives and found a lampshade tutorial! Thank you. Mimi
ReplyDeleteLove the rooster lamp. I made a new lamp from a church sale lamp - which I glued glass marbles and pretties on the base - grouted it and then took the lampshade skeleton and beaded it. I will have to post a picture some day.
ReplyDeleteAnyway - your blog is awesome!
Love your lamps and all of your vignettes are fabulous. I especially drooled over your cow painting. Wonderful. Thanks so much for the visit, I am thrilled to find your blog and I am your newest follower.Hope to see you at my parties - Table Top Tuesday and on the 11th for the "Cloche" party. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI love these lamps, they would look perfect in my house.....just in case LOL.

I love lamp light!! I also have the exact linen shade lamp that you have, and it's in my sitting room now. I love it, too! :)
