I found this little end table at the thrift shop and picked it up for a song and a dance.
So I went to work painting it thinking I would use it next to the bed.....
And it looked ok.......but kinda plain.
So then I decided to take the plunge and decoupage something on it, scary indeed.
So here it is, tell me if you think I should leave it, change it, or???? It just seems like it needs something else done to it.
I'm open to any and all ideas so have at it!

I am of the camp that says EVERYTHING is better with a rooster on it, lol. I love it but I loved it before the roosters too. What a great piece :)

I like it. Only thing different you could do is make the top a different color. A darker color. Or better yet, make a dark cloth runner to put on the top and then place your roosters on it. Make the runner long enough to hang down some on both sides. I think that would look really cute. But boy what a before and after you have accomplished!
ReplyDeleteFor what it's worth, I ABSOLUTELY loved it plain and just painted. In fact, it is THAT side table that brought me to your blog in the first place. Sometimes, less is more. Not that the roosters are bad. I just loved the beauty of it before.
ReplyDeleteI loved it plain also; roosters and chickens are definitely in but furniture with 'themes' seem to limit our uses for the furniture - I have a mission table that I use for every season for decorating and have also used it in many rooms in the house, but I couldn't have done that with a theme/motif on it...just my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your blog and ideas!

Oh goodness, what to do, if I decide to remove the roosters how in the world will I get them off? I decoupaged them with modpodge.
ReplyDeleteTeresa, I think it looks great both ways. I always say if you love it, that's what matters. It's a great find and I love it!

that turned out really cute .Enjoying my visit to your blog
ReplyDeleteI personally love the roosters! It was cute before but I think this adds quite a bit of "frenchy" feel. If you decide later to remove the roosters, sand, sand, sand! I love it though and think you executed it wonderfully!
ReplyDeleteI love it! The only thing I would do is paint the top red! I have a lot of rooster decor in my home so I add red and teal together and it's a perfect combination!
ReplyDeleteI like rooster everything. You did good painting/decorating of cabinet. Maybe not in the bedroom, keep on crafting.
