Pillows Make a Big Difference in the Feel of a Room

I've been staring at my sofa and decided it needed some pillows. I'm in the process of making a slipcover for it but pillows are a quick easy fix.

I found some really cute ones on Etsy that say 'Welcome Home'

They're made from burlap and cute as a button.

The larger red striped ones are from Target and were on clearance for $17, I snatched up the last two!!!

While I was at it I added this little cloche to the end table.

And switched out the lace curtains for some that i made...

It seems I always get the urge to take pictures at night lol, oh well, sorry for the lack of light.
The room looks a little cozier to me now, lovin' the pillows.

My Ruffled Curtain

Yes, it's just one curtain so far, two more to go but I was so excited about finishing it that I wanted to show y'all. I give all the credit to the tutorial given by Rachel at Maison De Pax   Her curtains turned out so cute that I had to give it a try. The best part is it only cost me $10 for one panel, you can't beat that! They were made with regular old muslin from Joanns Fabrics. They were so easy to make, just a little time consuming for the ruffles but overall not bad. So here we go with the pics....

And this was the sneak peek I showed you a couple of days ago. Did you figure it was a curtain?

I decided to make one wide curtain for the window rather than two panels.

Here'a a pic I took last night with it closed.

My hubby is being quite nice about all these white ruffles in the master, he just says, do whatever you want. Wow, I've been given free reign, watch out hubby you might find yourself sleeping in pink Cinderella sheets lol.

I love the softness the white and ruffles bring to the room. Super soothing!

I made little ties instead of a rod pocket, I think it added to the flirty look of the curtain. I'll probably be getting a different rod but I just wanted them up!

This room is finally taking on the vision I've always had for it and I'm super excited to show you the full reveal soon.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to give a shout out to Rachel for her awesome tutorial!

The perfect window table and a new lamp

I've been searching for a small table  to set in front of my living room windows. I didn't want to block the view but it needed to be large enough to handle a lamp, some accessories and a drinking glass. Well I finally found the perfect size at a yard sale for only $30. It was a mahogany type finish which I proceeded to paint my new favorite color of green on the leg and cream on the top. Forgot to take a before but here's the after.

I got the lamp at Hobby Lobby with a 40 percent off coupon. I love the texture that it adds.

It's just the right size for the accessories and still leaves plenty of room for my dog Semper to gaze out at the squirrels. See the smudges on the window from his doggie nose? It's near impossible to keep that window clean lol.

You can see a sneak peek of my curtains from Country Curtains. I love that store, they have such wonderful  quality curtains. I made the burlap runner.
I love the little white parrot on a stand, another Hob Lob purchase.
So that's it for today, working on doing something different to that dining table I posted about here. Have a great day :)
